A top network news correspondent, a celebrity chef, and an MTV throwback highlight San Joaquin Valley Town Hall’s 90th season.

SJV Town Hall is a nonprofit that provides a yearly speaker series, often bringing in nationally renowned figures. GV Wire is a sponsor of SJV Town Hall.

The curtain rises Sept. 16 for comedian Colin Quinn. His credits include his touring stand-up act, being a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” from 1995 to 2000, and serving as announcer on the 1980s MTV game show “Remote Control.”

Quinn’s talk will be part of the “Twilight Talks” series, starting at 7 p.m. at the Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall on the Clovis North High School campus in Fresno.

“60 Minutes” correspondent Norah O’Donnell continues the regular daytime series, with all talks at 10:30 a.m. at the William Saroyan Theatre in downtown Fresno. The CBS News personality will discuss women who shaped America while celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Celebrity chef Tyler Florence, known for his Food Network programs and cookbooks, speaks Jan. 27, 2027. He will discuss “fresh trends from California’s food scene.”

Season Will Wrap With Christine Baranski

Actress and Emmy Award-winning actress Christine Baranski wraps up the series April 14. Her credits include “Cybill,” “The Big Bang Theory,” and “The Good Wife.” Baranski will discuss “talent, tenacity and truth,” SJV Town Hall says

Baranski was originally scheduled to speak in 2024 but had to pull out because of the writers strike at the time.

Other talks include, unless otherwise noted, events at 10:30 a.m. at the Saroyan Theatre: NASA chief engineer Kobie Boykins (Nov. 18), Fresno-based jazz composer Benjamin Boone (Feb. 17), retired four-star Gen. Paul M. Nakasone (March 2 at 7 p.m. at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District), and zoologist Lucy Cooke (March 17).

How to Get Tickets

Tickets are available on the SJV Town Hall’s website. Special discounts run through July 4.
