Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Local teachers can pick up free books for their classrooms on Saturday, thanks to Reading Heart and CalViva Health,

The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon at the CalViva Health parking lot, 7625 N. Palm Ave.

How to Register

Last year, more than 24,000 books were distributed. The number of participating teachers is limited to 1,000 and teachers must pre-register at this link.

Organizers say the event’s goal is to empower teachers to create a grade-appropriate library in their classroom. And, a well-stocked classroom library provides students with easy access to
great books, promotes literacy, and develops motivated, engaged readers to become critical thinkers.

Rows full of grade-level appropriate books will be displayed for teachers to choose from. Teens That Care, a youth volunteer organization, will help at the book distribution.
