A man featured as the Valley Crime Stoppers Most Wanted for Thursday turned himself in shortly after his case was publicized, Fresno authorities said.

Jesse Garcia, 42, was wanted on a felony kidnapping charge, according to authorities. Officials said he surrendered soon after the media release tied to the daily Valley Crime Stoppers push.

Valley Crime Stoppers runs a Monday-through-Friday Most Wanted program in which a different suspect is highlighted each day through local media outlets, with anonymous tips accepted and cash rewards offered when information leads to an arrest.

Authorities said the detective assigned to the case was “shocked” by Garcia’s decision to turn himself in under the Valley Crime Stoppers‘ pressure.
