Republicans flipped Texas’ 32nd Congressional District, cutting Democrats’ net gain in the U.S. House to 34 as dozens of races remained uncalled Thursday.

NBC News projected Republican Jace Yarbrough as the winner over Democrat Dan Barrios in the Texas race. Yarbrough had 142,834 votes, or 51.5%, compared with Barrios’ 134,781 votes, or 48.5%, with 99% of the expected vote counted.

NBC News currently projects Democrats have flipped 35 Republican-held House seats and will hold 259 seats overall. Because Republicans have now flipped one Democratic-held seat, Democrats’ net gain stands at 34.

Forty-one House races had yet to be called, although NBC News projects Democrats will control the chamber.

Two Senate races also remained unresolved in Mississippi and Alaska, even as projections showed Democrats taking control of the Senate.

In Mississippi, Democratic challenger Scott Colom led Republican incumbent Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith by slightly more than 1,000 votes with nearly 96% of the vote counted.

In Alaska, Democrat Mary Peltola led Republican incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan by slightly more than 600 votes with 74.1% of the vote counted.

The remaining races will determine the final size of Democrats’ majorities in both chambers when the new Congress convenes.
