A Tulare man was arrested Thursday after police serving a search warrant in connection with a residential burglary and vehicle theft investigation found several firearms inside a home, authorities said.

The Tulare Police Department said its Investigations Unit, assisted by the SWAT Team, served the warrant at a residence in the 700 block of South G Street.

The warrant was obtained as part of an investigation into a residential burglary and vehicle theft reported June 21. Detectives identified 37-year-old Tulare resident Aubrey Conelly as a suspect connected to the crimes, police said.

During the search, officers found several firearms inside the residence, according to police.

Police said Conelly is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was taken into custody on charges related to being a felon in possession of firearms, burglary, and vehicle theft.

The case will be submitted to the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of criminal charges.
