A 9-year-old girl was airlifted to a hospital Thursday after being pulled from the water at Kaweah Lake following a possible drowning, authorities said.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the lake just after 3:30 p.m. Thursday after reports of a possible drowning.
When rescue crews arrived, they learned the girl had gone missing in the water. A man nearby heard the commotion, located the child, and pulled her from the lake, according to the sheriff’s office.
The man immediately began CPR before deputies arrived and took over lifesaving efforts.
The child was airlifted to a nearby hospital minutes later.
No further details about the girl’s condition were immediately available.
