A 41-year-old man wanted in connection with a violent home invasion and stabbing was arrested Tuesday afternoon at a fast-food restaurant in Sanger, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Samuel Botello Rodriguez was detained by a Sanger Police officer at a Jack in the Box on Jensen Avenue at 1 p.m., authorities said.

Detectives had previously shared investigative details with local law enforcement, enabling the officer to identify Rodriguez as a wanted suspect.
Sheriff’s detectives responded to the scene and took custody of Rodriguez, booking him into the Fresno County Jail on charges of attempted murder and burglary. His bail is set at $1 million.
Details of Sunday’s Incident
The arrest stems from a Sunday attack at a residence on near De Wolf and Belmont avenues in Fresno.

Sheriff’s deputies responding to a 7:30 p.m. call found a woman who had been beaten and stabbed. She was treated at a hospital and later released.
Investigators determined that Rodriguez had entered the home through an open garage and unlocked door, confronting the victim, who was alone.
He attacked her, punching and stabbing her before fleeing.
The woman managed to lock herself in a room for safety until a family member returned and called 911.

Detectives identified Rodriguez as the attacker through evidence gathered during the investigation.
Authorities described him as a homeless man with a history of criminal activity, including a prior burglary conviction.
Rodriguez, who was on Post-Release Community Supervision under California’s AB-109 program, had been fitted with a GPS ankle monitor but was not wearing it at the time of his arrest.
