A former Mt. Whitney High School campus employee in Visalia was sentenced Wednesday to five years in state prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges involving two teenage students.
The Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, sentenced Dejaun Jones, 40, for lewd acts involving two 15-year-old girls. According to prosecutors, the crimes occurred between September 2022 and April 2023 at Mt. Whitney High School in Visalia, where Jones worked as a campus employee.
Prosecutors said the offenses included showing the victims lewd videos of himself, soliciting and obtaining pictures from one of the girls, and inappropriate touching.
Jones pleaded guilty May 6 to all charges filed against him, including 11 felony counts of lewd acts with a child, showing pornography to a minor and contacting a minor for a sexual offense. Prosecutors said no plea offers were made in the case.
In addition to the prison sentence, Jones must register as a sex offender for life. The court also issued a 10-year criminal protective order against him.
