Airline workers conducted an informational picket Monday outside Fresno-Yosemite International Airport demanding fair wages and benefits from Piedmont Airlines, which flies in and out of Fresno.

About eighty-five people work for Piedmont locally. The regional airline’s parent company is American Airlines Group.

Representatives of Communication Workers of America Local 9408 said they have been in contract discussions for over a year.

GV Wire asked CWA Vice-President Cleo Cabral what would happen if negotiations didn’t advance.

“Yes, this could lead to a full-blown strike, potentially,” she answered.

Their contract expired on Nov. 4, 2023.
