Caltrans will close portions of Highways 180 and 41 in Fresno on Friday and Saturday for pump plant maintenance.

From 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, the offramp from eastbound Highway 180 to Peach Avenue will be closed.

On Saturday, the No. 3 lane of southbound Highway 41 between Herndon and Bullard avenues will be closed from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. The offramp from southbound Highway 41 to Bullard Avenue will also be closed.

Caltrans said the work will involve maintaining pump plants, which remove stormwater and runoff from depressed sections of highways to help prevent flooding.

The closures could last longer because of weather or other uncontrollable delays, Caltrans said. The work is scheduled to take place weather permitting.

Caltrans advised drivers to use extra caution, allow additional travel time, and watch for maintenance workers in the work zones.
