Emily Erwin debuted as the new KSEE co-anchor last month, replacing the retiring Stefani Booroojian.

The station promoted Erwin, who previously hosted lifestyle show “Central Valley Today.”  Now, she is partnering with Eric Rucker, who joined the newscast earlier this year.

After graduating from Clovis East High School and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State, Erwin worked in academics, at Stanford and San Francisco State — where she earned an advanced degree in 2018.

She worked for a year at KBAK/KBFX in Bakersfield before joining KSEE as “Central Valley Today” host in 2020.

Booroojian retired in June, after 40 years as anchor and reporter on KSEE. Also departing the desk this year — news anchor Alexan Balekian and sportscaster Andrew Marden. Marden is now working in Sacramento at FOX40.

KSEE/CBS 47 Takes in Three Texoma Reporters

Three new KSEE 24/CBS 47 reporters debuted — all coming from the same Texas TV station.

Hannah Gonzales and Kayla Holt previously reported at KXII, the CBS affiliate in Sherman, Texas, near the Oklahoma border.

Gonzales is a San Antonio, Texas, native and a University of North Texas graduate.

Holt, another Texas native, attended San Diego State and UNT.

Morgan is a Virginia native, and University of Alabama graduate. He worked as the sports reporter for KXII, and before that at WVUA in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

KXII is owned by Gray Media, which has its headquarters in Atlanta. KSEE 24/CBS 47 is owned by Nexstar Media Group.

They are the latest hires in a KSEE/CBS 47 youth movement. Previously this year the station added Sydney Charles, Jennifer Zucker, and Jason Takhtadjian. All came to Fresno from smaller stations.

Aguilar Exits ABC 30

After three years, ABC 30 anchor/reporter Amanda Aguilar left the building. Her last day was July 26.

“This was such a difficult decision, but I know in my heart, it’s time for a change. I’ve been feeling so many emotions leading up to my last week. There’s been grief, as I close a long and fulfilling chapter in my life — but also excitement about what the next chapter will bring,” she wrote on Facebook.

She explained her next move to Media Man.

“I’ve been away from my parents for eight years while I was working in news. I’m getting older and they are too, so I made the hard decision of leaving news so I can spend more time with them back home in the Bay Area,” Aguilar said.

Agular joined ABC 30 in October 2021. She also has had career stops in Savannah, Georgia, and Wichita, Kansas.

Former Grizzlies Pitcher Has New Football Podcast

At 6 feet, 10 inches tall, Steve Palazollo hoped to be the next Randy Johnson.

However, the former pitcher never made it out of the minor leagues. He spent two seasons, 2008-2009, pitching for the Fresno Grizzlies when the club was a San Francisco Giants affiliate.

Where he did not find success in baseball, he did in talking about football. For the last 13 years, he’s worked at Pro Football Focus. Now, he is switching companies, podcasting for The 33rd Team.

@PFF_Sam (Sam Monson) and I are excited to have a new opportunity to start a podcast with @The33rdTeamFB and we hope you’ll join us in our new home (same show, different home),” Palazzolo wrote on his X account.

The new podcast broadcasts on several platforms, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

David Taub,
Senior Reporter
Curiosity drives David Taub. The award-winning journalist might be shy, but feels mighty with a recorder in his hand. He doesn't see it his job to "hold public officials accountable," but does see it to provide readers (and voters) the information needed to make intelligent choices. Taub has been honored with several writing awards from the California News Publishers Association. He's just happy to have his stories read. Joining GV Wire in 2016, Taub covers politics, government and elections, mainly in the Fresno/Clovis area. He also writes columns about local eateries (Appetite for Fresno), pro wrestling (Off the Bottom Rope), and media (Media Man). Prior to joining the online news source, Taub worked as a radio producer for KMJ and PowerTalk 96.7 in Fresno. He also worked as an assignment editor for KCOY-TV in Santa Maria, California, and KSEE-TV in Fresno. He has also worked behind the scenes for several sports broadcasts, including the NCAA basketball tournament, and the Super Bowl. When not spending time with his family, Taub loves to officially score Fresno Grizzlies games. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Taub is a die-hard Giants and 49ers fan. He graduated from the University of Michigan with dual degrees in communications and political science. Go Blue! You can contact David at 559-492-4037 or at Send an Email
