Nicole Shanahan, a tech attorney and philanthropist, is rumored to be the potential vice presidential running mate for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

This speculation has gained momentum after a website bearing their names was found to be registered to Kennedy’s senior advisor. Shanahan, who was previously married to Google co-founder Sergey Brin, has a history of substantial donations to Democratic candidates.

Shanahan’s professional background includes founding ClearAccessIP, a tech law firm that leverages AI for patent portfolio management. She left the firm in 2020 to focus on philanthropy, establishing the Bia-Echo Foundation, which invests in reproductive equality, criminal justice reform, and environmental health.

Shanahan has been a consistent donor to Democratic presidential campaigns, contributing to Marianne Williamson, Pete Buttigieg, and the Biden Victory Fund. She also made headlines for donating $4 million to a Super PAC that funded a controversial Kennedy campaign ad.

Shanahan’s Potential VP Role

Despite her lack of political experience, Shanahan’s alignment with Kennedy on key issues such as environmental health and vaccines, coupled with her ability to financially support the campaign, make her a strong contender for the VP slot. The official announcement is expected on March 26 in Oakland.
