A man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a stabbing late Friday night in downtown Visalia following a confrontation that escalated into a fight, police said.
Visalia Police Department officers responded around 11:10 p.m. to a report of a stabbing in the 500 block of East Main Street.
When officers arrived, they learned the victim had already been taken to a local hospital with stab wounds.
Investigators determined the victim had been involved in a verbal confrontation with another man before the dispute escalated into a physical fight, police said. During the fight, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.
