Haaretz columnist Uri Misgav argues that opposition to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is gathering force ahead of the country’s Oct. 27 election.

In an opinion piece published Thursday, Misgav described the anti-Netanyahu bloc as an “unstoppable wave,” invoking a tsunami to convey his expectation of political change.

The column presents the growing opposition as a potential turning point for Israel, although the election’s outcome remains uncertain.

Haaretz accompanied the commentary with a photograph of a 2023 Tel Aviv protest against Netanyahu’s government’s attempt to overhaul the judiciary, recalling an earlier source of public resistance to his leadership.
