Trans-Siberian Orchestra will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a winter tour stopping at Fresno’s Save Mart Center on Thursday, Dec. 3.
The progressive rock group will perform at 7 p.m. with a reimagined production of “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve,” followed by a second set, the Save Mart Center announced Wednesday.
The production will feature the elaborate lasers, pyrotechnics, and special effects that have become a hallmark of the group’s annual holiday tours.
“Thirty years in, we never take a single person in that audience for granted,” TSO music director and guitarist Al Pitrelli said. “With the economy the way that it is right now, it shouldn’t be a mortgage payment for a family to come out to see us. Paul O’Neill (TSO’s late creator, lyricist, and composer) was very adamant about giving people in the audience more ‘show’ than they could’ve even imagined, and that’s what we do every year.”
Pitrelli said the group rebuilds and reimagines the production each year in an effort to make the experience bigger than the previous tour.
TSO was launched by O’Neill in 1996 and has since grown into a multi-platinum progressive rock group. The group has generated more than $1 billion in gross ticket sales, according to the announcement.
How to Get Tickets
Fan club presales begin Sept. 10 and 11, followed by general presales Sept. 17.
Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Sept. 18 through Ticketmaster and at noon at the Save Mart Center box office.
TSO said it has expanded the number of lower-priced tickets available in each city on the anniversary tour.
A portion of proceeds from the Fresno performance will benefit Central Valley Honor Flight.
