Visalia police are asking for the public’s help identifying a maroon sedan believed to have been involved in a fatal collision Sunday night.
Officers were dispatched about 7:48 p.m. to the area of Ferguson Avenue and Dinuba Boulevard following reports of a collision, according to the Visalia Police Department.
Officers found an adult man lying in the roadway. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
The department’s Traffic Unit took over the investigation and worked through the night and into Monday morning reviewing surveillance video from the surrounding area and attempting to identify the vehicle involved.
Investigators said video shows a maroon-colored sedan believed to have been involved in the collision. The vehicle has front-end damage.
Police initially reported Sunday night that officers were investigating a major-injury collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist on Ferguson Avenue west of Dinuba Boulevard.
Ferguson Avenue was closed in the area while officers and emergency crews worked at the scene.
