A woman was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly driving under the influence with her child before dropping him off and telling him it was time to go to school, Fresno police told GV Wire.
Officers were dispatched about 5:30 p.m. to Burns and Chestnut avenues for a welfare check involving a juvenile who had been dropped off by his mother.
Police said the child’s mother had picked him up, driven him around the block, and then dropped him off at a bus pickup/drop off, telling him it was time to go to school. The child went to a nearby school and told staff what had happened.
An officer contacted the mother, identified as Mai Her, and conducted a DUI investigation.
Police said Her was determined to have been driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment.
