A man was arrested Thursday after police said he fired multiple rounds into the air during a backyard party in southeast Fresno.
Fresno police officers were dispatched about 1:04 a.m. to a home near Filbert Avenue and Dwight Way after receiving a report of shots fired from the backyard, police said.
Officers found a party taking place and determined people attending had been drinking. Police detained several men inside the home and received consent to conduct a search.
During the investigation, officers determined one of the occupants had fired multiple rounds into the air, police said.
The man consented to a search of his vehicle, where officers found a firearm without a serial number concealed beneath the front seat, according to police.
The man was arrested on multiple weapons violations, including willful negligent discharge of a firearm, and booked into the Fresno County Jail. Police did not identify the suspect.
