Detectives with the Visalia Police Department arrested two people after intercepting about 2 pounds of methamphetamine that authorities said was being shipped through a postal service in Visalia.
Police said detectives intercepted the shipment on July 21 and identified Jose Alvarez, 59, and Rosemary Juarez, 49, as the people responsible for shipping the narcotics.
On Wednesday at about 9:21 a.m., narcotics detectives, assisted by the department’s Special Enforcement Unit, served a search warrant in the 400 block of West Costner Street in Farmersville.
During the search, detectives said they found and seized additional methamphetamine, evidence consistent with narcotics sales and ammunition.
Alvarez and Juarez were arrested and taken to the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility, where they were booked on narcotics-related charges.
Authorities did not immediately release additional details about the investigation or specify the charges the two suspects face.
