The United States of America gearing up to celebrate its 250th anniversary with huge celebrations across the county.
Locally, new and old celebrations alike invite the community to partake in the festivities!
GV Wire has compiled a list of events in the greater Fresno area during and leading up to the 4th of July.
Tuesday, June 30
America Fest will kick off the celebration with a county concert and drone light show at the River Park farmers market, lasting from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Wednesday, July 1
Shaver Lake is hosting its beloved 26th annual free fireworks show from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Thursday, July 2
Reedley celebrates America’s 250th anniversary at Pioneer Park from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The free event will feature live music, food vendors, community booths, and train rides.
Friday, July 3
The Caruthers District Fair, California’s largest and longest-running free-gate fair, is holding a fireworks celebration at dusk. Parking is available at the Tahoe Ave Soccer Field for $20.
Selma hosts its 36th annual community Independence Day celebration and firework show at the Selma District Chamber of Commerce, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event costs $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 10. Veterans and children 4-and-under enter free.
The Kerman Chamber of Commerce invites the community to its family-friendly American Spirit Firework Extravaganza from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Attendees can expect waterslides, obstacle courses, martial arts celebrations, and a fireworks show.
The event costs $6 for ages 11 and older and $3 for ages 4 to 10, veterans, and seniors. There’s no charge for those 3-and -under.
Kingsburg is celebrating with a firework show at the Kingsburg High School football stadium. The event will include music and food with gates opening at 6 p.m.
There is a $5 entrance fee and $5 parking fee.
Island Waterpark is extending its hours for family night featuring a firework show from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Event admission starts at $29.99.
The water park will also put on a July 4th fireworks show during its normal hours of operation, closing at 9 p.m.
The Pines Village Patriotic Parade in Bass Lake will kick off festivities at 7 p.m. The parade begins at 9:05 p.m.
Visalia will have a night of food and fun at the Independence Spectacular, ending with fireworks. The free event will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Riverway Sports Park.
Saturday, July 4
Fresno’s annual Freedom Run kicks off the holiday, featuring a 4-mile run/walk, a 2-mile run/walk, and a fun Kids Run along an American flag-lined course at Woodward Park.
Participants will receive a shirt, chip timing, post-race snacks, and a newly designed commemorative finisher medal.
Tioga Sequoia Brewing Company will host a block party, free for all ages, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. featuring food and drinks, live music, and a firework show.
The Fresno Grizzlies will compete against the Ontario Tower Buzzers, ending the night with a fan-favorite fireworks extravaganza.

Clovis will put on its annual Freedom Fest at Clovis High School from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. General admission is $5 for anyone over 5.
Bass Lake invites the community to a lakeside celebration from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. featuring a BBQ buffet, live music, family games, and fireworks. Tickets are $70 to $130.
Additionally, there will be a Bass Lake boat parade beginning at 7 p.m.
The Madera District Fairgrounds are getting festive with local food trucks, craft vendors, and a fireworks show at 9 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m., and admission is free.
The city of Sanger is putting on a 4th of July Spectacular at Sanger High School. There is a $5 entrance fee for anyone over 5, and parking is $10.
The city of Coalinga is hosting an all-day event, kicking off with an Independence Day Parade at 10 a.m. on Cambridge Street. After the parade, Coalinga College will have food vendors and activities available with a drone show at 9 p.m.
The city of Hanford is bringing back its Freedom Fest and firework show, including live music, food vendors, and a kids play zone. Tickets for ages 18 to 54 cost $5, while youth and seniors get in free.
Mariposa celebrates with a full day of live music and entertainment, local food vendors, a kid zones, and an evening parade and drone show.
Sunday, July 5
Chowchilla will keep the celebrations going with a free community event featuring a kids zone with face painting and water slides, music, and fireworks from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
