Clovis police arrested 24 drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol in May, according to the department’s monthly Spotlight report.
The DUI arrests were among 443 total arrests made by Clovis police officers during the month.
The report, part of a new monthly series designed to keep the community informed about police activity, also showed the department handled 7,584 calls for service in May. Those calls included police reports, traffic stops, collisions, community contacts, and follow-up investigations.
Patrol officers took 105 collision reports during the month. Police also reported 18 vehicle burglaries and thefts from unlocked vehicles, along with 11 residential burglaries.
The department’s Public Safety Dispatchers answered 3,417 emergency 911 calls in May.
Alongside the statistics, the department encouraged residents to report crimes in progress and suspicious activity, lock doors and set alarms, use exterior lighting and security cameras, avoid leaving valuables in public view and remain aware of their surroundings.
