GV Wire’s Edward Smith talks with KMPH Fox 26 “Great Day” anchor Liz Gonzalez about Fresno EOC leadership wanting to reduce board members from 24 to 15.

Board Commissioner Matt Rogers also said that newly appointed CEO Steven Lewis wants to eliminate the public comment portion of meetings.

Huron Mayor and EOC board commissioner Rey Leon said board member cuts would hurt representation of residents in rural Fresno County.

Rogers said a vote to reduce board positions was not discussed in open session at Monday’s meeting, but the matter could come back up.
