The owner of the popular Tacos El Cabezon shop in Fresno is missing, police said.

Armando Arias has been missing for several days, according to the Fresno Police Department, which received a missing persons report Friday.

The news comes nearly two months after Arias opened a new location for his restaurant in downtown Fresno.

Calls to Arias and to the restaurant did not go through. Social media reported that the restaurant has been closed since Friday.

The missing persons report comes as Arias faces a $507,000 civil judgment against him in Fresno County.

On social media, Arias said he came to Fresno from Bell Garden after dropping out of high school.  In 2022, he started Tacos El Cabezon as a street vendor selling tacos “illegally,” he wrote on Instagram.

By 2025, he opened his first store front at Shaw and Maroa avenues.

Both the Shaw Avenue and downtown Fresno locations were well known for long lines.
