Fresno Police Department officers arrested two suspected gang members in connection with a shooting that followed a large disturbance in northeast Fresno last month.

Officers were dispatched March 7 to the area of Blackstone and El Paso avenues after receiving reports of a large physical disturbance. The call was quickly upgraded after a ShotSpotter activation in the same area.

When officers arrived, they found evidence that shots had been fired, but the suspects had already fled, police said.

The investigation was turned over to the Multi Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium, which confirmed that a disturbance had occurred and led to gunfire.

On Thursday, MAGEC investigators served a search warrant and conducted an apprehension operation that resulted in the arrest of Alisha Gonzales, 21, and an 18-year-old suspect who was 17 at the time of the shooting.

Gonzales was booked into the Fresno County Jail. The second suspect was booked into the Juvenile Justice Campus.

Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and accessory charges.
