A pedestrian was killed Wednesday afternoon in a collision involving a semi-truck in Fresno, prompting the closure of the northbound Highway 99 Fresno Street offramp, authorities said.

Caltrans reported the offramp was closed due to a pedestrian-involved collision. No estimated time of reopening was immediately available, and motorists were advised to expect delays.

Fresno police said officers are investigating the incident. The call was received at 2:27 p.m.

According to police, the collision involved a semi-truck and a pedestrian who died at the scene. Authorities said the pedestrian was a man believed to be in his mid-50s.

Additional details about the circumstances of the collision were not immediately available.
