California Health Sciences University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine will celebrate a 100% residency match rate for the third consecutive year when it unveils the results for its class of 2026 on Friday.

All 131 fourth-year medical students will learn at 9 a.m. PDT where they will begin the next phase of their medical training — a milestone eagerly shared with family and friends. CHSU also achieved a 100% match rate for its 2024 and 2025 graduating classes.

CHSU-COM, the first medical school in the Central Valley, currently enrolls about 630 students and will welcome its seventh cohort in July.

In 2024, CHSU hit a significant milestone for its College of Osteopathic Medicine by receiving a coveted seven-year accreditation from the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation.

About Match Day

The match is a nationwide, highly competitive system that assigns graduating medical students to residency programs.

As part of Match Week, students learn whether they have been assigned to a program. After completing interviews, they submit a ranked list of preferred programs. Once matched, students are contractually obligated to join their assigned residency.

Students who do not match can enter a “scramble,” where hospitals with unfilled positions recruit candidates. Those who decline a matched residency cannot re-enter the match to seek another placement.
