A car fire has blocked northbound Highway 99 at Herndon Avenue on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, with no reopening time available and alternate routes recommended. (CalTrans)

Caltrans reported that the the first lane along northbound highway 99 is now open.

Update at 10:20 a.m. on Sept. 9, 2025.

Traffic is being diverted off at Veterans Boulevard.

Northbound lanes of Highway 99 are blocked at Herndon Avenue due to a vehicle fire, Caltrans officials said Tuesday.

No estimated time of reopening was immediately available, and drivers were advised to use alternate routes.
