Kingsburg Man Dies After Gunshot Wound, Cause Under Investigation

Authorities are investigating the death of a 20-year-old man who died of a gunshot wound early Saturday morning in Kingsburg, the Kingsburg Police Department reported.

Police responded around 2:42 a.m. to a residence in the 2300 block of Orange Street following reports of an injured person.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound. Emergency crews transported him to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, where he later died.

Preliminary interviews suggest the shooting may have been accidental, according to Kingsburg Police.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation, with homicide detectives and crime scene specialists assisting.
