A routine traffic stop on I-5 in Fresno County led to the seizure of 17 pounds of cocaine valued at about $640,000, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred on Thursday, Jan. 16, when a CHP K9 sergeant discovered the drugs during a vehicle search.
The driver, Alejandro Bravo, 33, of Yakima, Washington, was taken into custody.

Authorities said the case has been handed over to the Fresno High Impact Investigation Team for further investigation.
