“It’s with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night,” Wolfe wrote on Instagram. He described Fritz as “a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny,” both on and off camera.
Fritz and Wolfe had been the faces of “American Pickers” for a decade, traveling across the country in search of unique antiques and artifacts. The show, which debuted in 2010, has aired for 25 seasons and gained a dedicated following.

“Who would have ever dreamed we would share the cockpit of a white cargo van in front of millions of people interested in our adventures,” Wolfe reminisced in his tribute.
Fritz had stepped back from the show in 2020 due to health issues and suffered a stroke in the summer of 2022. The History Channel and Cineflix Production released a joint statement, saying, “We will always remember ‘the bearded charmer’ and his never-ending search for vintage motorcycles and bikes.”
Bill Stankey from Fritz’s management team praised him as “an exceptional human being” who “knew more about Americana and antiques than anyone I ever met.”
Fritz’s passing marks the end of an era for “American Pickers” fans, leaving behind a legacy of passion for history and antiques that touched millions of viewers.
