Sculptor Who Helped Renzi with Artwork Disgusted by Vandals

The owner has donated the piece to the city of Fresno, which will restore it and place it in a public space, City Attorney Andrew Janz said Tuesday.

“We are confident it will be placed back into its original condition,” said Janz.

Sculptor Sal Esqueda, who helped Renzi with the 1981 artwork, said about the vandals: “I was very pissed — the lack of respect by people who would deface such an art piece.”
