Angels of Grace Foster Family Agency received $10,687 Tuesday night from the Granville Furniture Auction at the home builder’s Belterra community in Fresno.
A crowd of about 250, including 89 registered bidders, braved the 100-plus degree temperatures to pick up bargains and benefit the Fresno nonprofit.
Fresno auctioneer Dan Cobb oversaw the bidding on furniture and accessories from Belterra’s model homes.
Every penny from the auction was donated to Angels of Grace.

About Angels of Grace

Lisa Casarez founded Angels of Grace in 2000.

Lisa Casarez
As stated on the Angels of Grace website: “Her goal from the beginning was to provide a place of refuge and healing for foster children, a place focused on the children’s emotional and physical needs, to love, nurture, and protect the mind, body, and spirit of the children she serves.”
The agency’s motto is “Be a blessing to a child. Become a foster parent.”
In 2008, Casarez opened the Angels of Grace Safe Haven Transitional Home.  It provides housing and independent living skills to emancipated females between the ages of 18-24 who are aging out of the foster care system.
Casarez, who has a master’s degree in social work, was named Mother of the Year in 2013 by the Fresno County Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
(Disclosure: Granville Homes is the parent company of GV Wire.)
