New Clovis Community College students will get tips on student success and a chance to meet faculty, counselors, staff, and other students at orientation events this week.
Students can attend “Crush” Days on Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, 8:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m., in AC1-150 (Academic Center One, Forum Hall 150), on the campus at 10309 N. Willow Ave., Fresno.
Student ambassadors will provide tours of the classrooms and campus. New students will have the opportunity to connect with on-campus technology and learn about programs to assist disabled students or those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
They also get lunch and hear from motivational speaker Delatorro L. McNeal II.
But wait, there’s more: Participants will take home a drawstring bag with a flash drive, notebook and keychain adorned with the college’s “Crush” mascot — a charging bull.

Orientation Helps Ease Anxieties

“This new student welcome is an opportunity to ensure new students are fully prepared for their first semester in college and provides them with the resources and knowledge to ease any anxieties they may have,” said Gurdeep Hebert, dean of student services. “We are here to help students have a successful start to the fall semester.”
The new semester starts Monday, Aug. 12. Students can register Friday and Saturday at Extreme Registration.
Clovis Community College is one of six colleges and college centers in the State Center Community College District.
