Three Community-Acquired Cases in Fresno County
Public health officials in Fresno County said Friday afternoon that they had received confirmation of four community-acquired COVID-19 cases in which people were not exposed to the virus through travel or contact with an infected individual.
“We expect cases in Fresno County and surrounding areas to quickly multiply in the coming weeks as additional testing is done for those with symptoms of fever and respiratory illness,” said Dr. Rais Vohra, Fresno County Interim Health Officer, in a statement.
“I urge all Fresno County residents to take the simple and common-sense steps that we know will interrupt community transmission of this infection. This is not the time to panic, but it is a time to take
urgent and rational action against the threat of widespread infection. Let’s all do our part, if not for ourselves, then for our elders, our frail relatives and friends, and our brave healthcare heroes.”
Latest from #Fresno County Public Health: 31 COVID-19 cases (up from 27 yesterday). Four cases are from community spread.
