Three hurricanes are churning across the Pacific between Hawaii and North America, including two major storms, The Washington Post reported.

Hurricane Lowell reached Category 5 strength Wednesday with 160-mph winds south of Hawaii before weakening to Category 4 with 145-mph winds. Forecasters said it is too early to know how close Lowell will come to Hawaii.

Hurricane Karina, about 1,260 miles east of Hilo, is expected to weaken while moving northwest.

Hurricane Marie, south of Baja California, is forecast to remain offshore but could send remnant moisture toward the U.S. West Coast early next week, according to the newspaper Thursday.
