Central Unified School District barred a former substitute teacher from district campuses and launched an internal investigation after learning the individual was arrested in connection with allegations of sexual misconduct involving a minor.

“We hold everyone who works with our students to strict professional and ethical standards,” district spokesperson Jonathan Burrows said in a statement. “We are committed to maintaining safe learning environments and will continue to work closely with local authorities.”

The Fresno Police Department confirmed officers detained Christan David Flores on suspicion of lewd acts with a child age 14 or 15, arranging a meeting with a minor for sexual purposes, and lewd acts on a child by force, violence, duress, menace or fear.

Flores was employed at Central Unified from June 2025 to June 2026, Burrows said.

Central Unified is providing police with any necessary information for their ongoing investigation, according to a district press release.

The district declined to provide further information, citing the ongoing investigation.
