A water main break early Monday forced the closure of westbound Herndon Avenue between Highway 168 and DeWitt Avenue, disrupting the morning commute in Clovis, according to Clovis police.
Authorities initially closed the westbound lanes in the area between Clovis and Villa avenues and warned drivers to avoid the area or expect delays. Vehicles exiting Herndon at the Highway 168 were diverted to eastbound lanes.
In an update posted at 7:47 a.m. Monday, police said one lane of westbound Herndon had reopened but advised motorists to continue avoiding the area or expect traffic delays.
Police said there is no estimated time for the roadway to fully reopen and that updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
