Wildfire Burns Near Yosemite Lakes in Madera County, Containment at 20%

Fire crews are battling a wildfire in Madera County that ignited Tuesday evening near Jewels Vista Drive and Highway 41, CalFire reported.

The Jewel Fire had burned 15 acres as of Wednesday morning and was 20% contained.

The cause remains under investigation.

No injuries or damage to structures have been reported, and no buildings are currently threatened.

The fire is being fought with 11 engines, three water tenders, one helicopter, two dozers, two hand crews and air tankers flying suppression missions as weather conditions permit.

A total of 55 personnel are assigned to the blaze.
