After a two-week raid by Israel’s military, the al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City is left in ruins. The Israeli Defense Forces claim the raid was necessary as Hamas had regrouped within the hospital.
The IDF reports killing 200 “terrorists”, detaining hundreds, and discovering weapons and intelligence within the hospital. The aftermath of the raid reveals a devastated medical complex, with locals reporting nearby areas completely razed. The Hamas-run health ministry reports finding dozens of bodies, some decomposed, in and around the hospital, which is now “completely out of service.”

A doctor reported recovering over 20 bodies, some crushed by withdrawing vehicles. The Hamas government media office claims Israeli forces killed 400 Palestinians in al-Shifa and the surrounding area, including a female doctor and her son, also a doctor.
The World Health Organization reports that 21 patients died, with patients moved multiple times and held without medical care. The IDF has yet to comment on these claims.
