Two men were arrested after deputies investigating a reported robbery at an Oakhurst hotel stopped a vehicle nearby and found two firearms, narcotics, and drug paraphernalia, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded about 2:40 a.m. Oct. 28 to a hotel along Highway 41, where a man reported that several men assaulted him, stole his money, and fled.
While responding, authorities spotted a vehicle near the hotel matching the description of one of the vehicles associated with the robbery, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies stopped the vehicle and detained its four occupants.
During the investigation, authorities identified one passenger as a suspect in the robbery. Another passenger had outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies found the firearms, narcotics, and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Two male occupants were arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail.
The sheriff’s office did not identify those arrested or specify their booking charges.
