A man accused of forcing his way into a woman’s home, dragging her outside by her hair, and threatening to kill her in front of her family was injured in a vehicle crash, Visalia police said.

Officers responded about 8:55 a.m. Tuesday to the 1900 block of North Turner Street, where they learned of the alleged assault and threats.

Police shared a description of the suspect’s vehicle with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was later located on Plaza Drive, just north of Visalia.

The woman and another male victim managed to get out of the vehicle before the suspect fled the area, police said.

Shortly afterward, the suspect crashed his vehicle near Plaza Drive and Riggin Avenue.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Police did not provide the suspect’s identity or additional details about the victims.
