The Stanislaus County Courthouse and 10th Street Place were evacuated Wednesday morning after authorities received a report of suspicious circumstances involving both buildings, according to the Modesto Police Department.

Authorities received the report at about 8:30 a.m. and evacuated both buildings as a precaution while an investigation was conducted.

Police said both buildings were thoroughly checked and deemed safe. Access was later restored, allowing normal operations to resume.

The Modesto Police Department, Modesto Fire Department, and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office worked together to investigate the circumstances and ensure the safety of employees, members of the public, and others in the area.
