Democrat Xavier Becerra and Republican Steve Hilton will face off Wednesday in a nationally televised debate as the race for California governor moves closer to the Nov. 3 general election.
The hourlong debate is scheduled for 6 p.m. Pacific at CNN’s studios in Burbank and will be moderated by anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. It will be the candidates’ first one-on-one debate since they advanced from the June primary.
Ahead of the debate, GV Wire is releasing highlights from Publisher Darius Assemi’s wide-ranging interview with Hilton on “The Unfiltered Show.”
Assemi and Hilton discussed the Republican candidate’s campaign and his plans for California, including the state’s cost of living, taxes, energy costs, education, immigration, and transportation.
Hilton also discussed his strategy for appealing to voters in a state where Democrats hold a substantial voter-registration advantage.
