Fresno police arrested a 30-year-old man after he allegedly fled from a reported stolen vehicle and attempted to escape a police perimeter Friday, authorities said.

Central District Safety Team officers attempted to stop the vehicle about 11:50 p.m. near East Olive and North Linden avenues, according to the Fresno Police Department.

The driver did not yield and fled, but officers did not pursue.

Officers later found the vehicle unoccupied near Ferger and Olive avenues and saw the driver running from the area, police said.

Patrol officers, Neighborhood Traffic Unit officers, Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium officers, and a K-9 conducted a yard-to-yard search with assistance from the department’s AIR1 helicopter.

Police said the driver, identified as Jacob Ryan, attempted to run out of the established perimeter but was quickly taken into custody.

Ryan was booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges related to the stolen vehicle and suspicion of driving under the influence.
