A 30-year-old woman who was reported missing was found dead inside a Fresno residence after investigators served a search warrant, prompting a homicide investigation, police said.

Northeast District patrol officers responded about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday to the 4400 block of East Richert Avenue after receiving a report of a missing person identified as Tatyana McIntyre, 30. Officers searched multiple locations throughout Fresno but were unable to locate her.

Detectives with the Fresno Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit took over the investigation and determined that McIntyre’s last known location was a residence in the 5700 block of East Grove Avenue.

The department’s Street Violence Bureau Tactical Team served a search warrant at the residence, where officers found McIntyre dead inside. No other people were inside the home when the warrant was served, police said.

Homicide detectives responded and said their preliminary investigation found evidence that a disturbance had occurred inside the residence.

Police said two small children associated with the location are safe and accounted for.

The investigation remains active. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood, reviewing surveillance footage, identifying and interviewing witnesses, and gathering evidence connected to the case.
