A Coalinga man was arrested after authorities said they found two handguns and ammunition while serving a search warrant at a residence this week.
The search warrant was served about 2 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 800 block of Mustang Way by the Coalinga Police Department and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium, according to Coalinga police.
Investigators said the warrant stemmed from an investigation into allegations that Pedro Gonzalez Sanchez, of Coalinga, a convicted felon, was in possession of firearms.
Authorities said officers repeatedly ordered occupants to leave the home before entering. A female juvenile exited the residence without incident, and no one else was found inside, police said.
During a search of the residence, officers said they recovered two handguns, a registered .22-caliber Ruger and an unregistered 9mm Springfield, along with several rounds of ammunition. The firearms and ammunition were seized as evidence, according to police.
Police said Sanchez later turned himself in.
