A 911 hang-up call Saturday morning led Visalia police to arrest two people after officers found methamphetamine, a firearm and ammunition during a parole search, authorities said.
Officers responded at about 8:38 a.m. to the 800 block of South Garden Street after receiving the hang-up call. At the residence, officers contacted Jeffrey Downing, 39, who initially delayed allowing officers onto the property, according to the Visalia Police Department.
During the investigation, officers determined Downing was on parole for homicide, making the residence subject to a parole search.
Police said the search uncovered methamphetamine, evidence consistent with narcotics sales, a .38-caliber revolver and live ammunition.
Officers also contacted Sonya Munoz. 28, at the residence and determined she had four active no-bail narcotics warrants.
Downing and Munoz were arrested and booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility.
Downing was booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, parole violation, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed and maintaining a drug house.
Munoz was booked on her four outstanding no-bail narcotics warrants.
