Amid escalating threats from the White House, ordinary Iranians are being urged to take up arms and prepare for war, according to a CNN report.

CNN reported that Iran has been holding state-sponsored rallies nightly, with crowds chanting “Death to America.” The network said the demonstrations have taken place every night over the past several weeks.

While the rallies themselves are not new, CNN reported that a notable change has been the introduction of weapons into the events. Video aired by the network showed kiosks set up on streets displaying guns.

CNN also reported that members of the Iranian military have been demonstrating basic firearm skills to civilians.

The report included footage of children participating in the events, which CNN described as a state-sponsored call to arms in the event war were to break out again.
