A driver was arrested Monday evening on suspicion of driving under the influence and drug-related offenses following a traffic stop in central Fresno, police said.

Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Ventura Avenue and Third Street around 5:57 p.m. During the stop, officers contacted the driver and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.

An investigation determined the driver was impaired and under the influence of alcohol, according to Fresno police. Officers also found the suspect in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
