Claude AI Goes Down for Thousands of Users Wednesday, Downdetector Reports

Claude AI is experiencing a possible outage Wednesday, with thousands of users reporting issues, according to Downdetector.com.

More than 7,000 users had reported problems with the platform as of 8:02 a.m. PT, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from multiple sources.

Most users reporting problems to Downdetector said they were experiencing Claude Chat issues.

Claude’s status checker says that they are investigating the issue.

Update at 8:08 a.m.

More than 9,000 users have reported an issue with Claude AI.

The status checker now indicates that a “fix is being implemented.”

Update at 8:25 a.m.

More than 15,000 users have now reported an issue with the platform.

The status checker now says, “The Claude API has fully recovered as of 8:01 PT / 16:01 UTC. We are currently working on mitigating the ongoing errors for Claude AI. Claude Code users who are logged in are still able to use it, but logging in is still broken.”

Update at 8:39 a.m.

More than 20,000 users have now reported an issue with the platform.

Update at 8;57 a.m.

The status checker now says, “Claude.ai and Platform are down. Login for Claude Code does not work via Claude.ai.”

More than 22,000 users have reported an issue with Claude.

Update at 9:45 a.m.

Claude AI’s status checker now says, “We have seen success rates for login to Claude.ai, including via Claude Code, stabilize and are working to fully resolve this issue. We will provide an update shortly.”

More than 30,000 users have reported an issue with the platform.
